Peer Review Process

Peer-Review and Ethical Publishing Policies

Review Process Policy

Journal of Evidence-Based Community Health (JEBCH) implements the following peer-review process:

  1. Pre-Submission:
Authors are advised to ensure that manuscripts are free from plagiarism and copyright infringement before submission.

  2. Initial Editorial Review:
Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the editor to ensure conformity with the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines. Communication may occur between the editor and author to make necessary adjustments before proceeding.

  3. Reviewer Assignment:
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial check are assigned to two reviewers. The journal follows a double-blind review process, where both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.

  4. Review Criteria:
    Reviewers evaluate submissions based on:

    • Novelty and originality,

    • Scientific rigor and methodology,

    • Objectivity,

    • Relevance and significance of findings,

    • Strength of conclusions,

    • Quality and relevance of references.

  5. Reviewer Feedback:
Reviewers may recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection. Feedback is compiled and sent to the author.

  6. Editorial Decision:
The editor, considering the reviewers’ input, makes a final recommendation. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision is final.

  7. Platform:
The entire review process is conducted via the Open Journal System (OJS).
